Early Tuesday morning, some bank clients in Tarlac and Lipa arrived at their usual DBP branches only to find the doors temporarily closed. For many Filipinos who rely on bank services for salaries, pensions, and daily business needs, even a one-day closure can affect plans and schedules.

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) announced that its Tarlac Branch and Lipa Branch are temporarily closed today, January 20, 2026, in observance of their respective local holidays. The advisory was issued to inform clients ahead of time and help them make alternative arrangements for their banking transactions.

DBP clarified that despite the closures in Tarlac and Lipa, all other DBP branches, Branch Lite Units (BLUs), and the DBP Financial Center nationwide remain open today. These offices are operating on regular banking hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to continue serving clients.

The bank encouraged customers affected by the temporary closures to visit the nearest open DBP branch or use available digital and ATM services for basic transactions. DBP also reminded the public that a regularly updated list of open branches is available on its official website to help clients plan their visits more efficiently.

Local holidays are declared by local government units to commemorate important historical, cultural, or religious events in their areas. During these dates, some government offices and banks suspend operations as part of the celebration. DBP said such closures are limited and coordinated to minimize inconvenience to the public.

For concerns related to banking services, DBP assured clients that support channels remain available. Customers may contact the DBP Customer Experience Management Department from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through email. Clients may also reach out to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Financial Consumer Protection Department for complaints or assistance involving banking services.

DBP emphasized that it operates under the regulation and supervision of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, which ensures that banks follow rules designed to protect consumers and maintain stability in the financial system.

For urgent ATM-related concerns such as lost cards or blocked accounts, DBP advised clients to immediately contact its 24/7 ATM hotlines. These hotlines are available nationwide to help prevent unauthorized transactions and provide immediate assistance, even outside regular banking hours.

The bank reminded clients, especially those from Classes C, D, and E who depend heavily on physical bank branches, to plan ahead during declared holidays. Simple steps such as withdrawing cash early or using alternative branches can help avoid delays and stress.

As DBP continues to serve communities across the country, it reiterated its commitment to keeping the public informed of operational updates. Clear advisories, the bank said, are part of its effort to provide reliable and accessible service to all Filipinos.
