Early Monday morning, some bank clients arrived at their usual branches only to find doors closed and notices posted outside. For many Filipinos who rely on over-the-counter transactions, branch schedules remain an important part of managing daily finances.

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) announced that several of its branches are temporarily closed on February 2, 2026, in observance of local holidays in their respective areas. The advisory was released to inform clients ahead of time and help them plan their banking transactions without inconvenience.

According to DBP, the branches affected by the temporary closure are the Bangui Branch, Cabugao Branch, Laoag Branch, Vigan Branch, and Tacurong Branch. These locations are observing local celebrations recognized by their local government units, prompting a one-day suspension of branch operations.

DBP clarified that all other branches nationwide remain open and fully operational. Branches, Branch Lite Units (BLUs), and the DBP Financial Center are open on February 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., ready to serve clients’ banking needs. This ensures continued access to essential services such as deposits, withdrawals, loan-related transactions, and other over-the-counter services for customers outside the affected areas.

The bank encouraged clients to check the updated list of open branches through its official channels before visiting, especially those who may be traveling or conducting time-sensitive transactions. DBP also reminded the public that many services remain available through electronic channels, including automated teller machines and digital banking platforms, which can help reduce the need for branch visits.

As a government-owned financial institution, DBP plays a key role in supporting agriculture, infrastructure, small businesses, and local government projects across the country. It serves not only large institutions but also farmers, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs who depend on reliable access to banking services. Clear advisories on branch schedules are part of efforts to maintain transparency and customer trust.

DBP reiterated that it operates under the regulation of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), which oversees banks to ensure consumer protection, financial stability, and fair banking practices. Clients with concerns, feedback, or complaints may contact the DBP Customer Experience Management Department during office hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For more serious concerns, customers may also reach out to the BSP Financial Consumer Protection Department through its official telephone and email channels. These mechanisms are in place to protect consumers and ensure that banking institutions respond properly to client issues.

Meanwhile, DBP reminded clients to immediately report lost cards or urgent ATM-related concerns. The bank maintains 24/7 ATM hotlines to assist customers at any time, particularly in cases where quick action is needed to prevent unauthorized transactions.

With local holidays observed in different parts of the country, DBP advised the public to stay informed about branch schedules and to make use of available banking alternatives when possible. Planning ahead, the bank said, can help avoid delays and ensure smooth financial transactions.

As communities celebrate their local traditions, DBP assured clients that it remains committed to providing accessible and dependable banking services nationwide, balancing local observances with the needs of the public.
