Early Friday morning, some bank clients arrived at their usual Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) branches only to find doors closed and notices posted. For many Filipinos who rely on in-person banking, especially for payroll, farm payments, or loan concerns, knowing which branches are open can make a big difference in planning the day.

DBP announced that several of its branches are temporarily closed on Friday, January 9, 2026, in observance of local holidays in their respective areas. The affected branches include the DBP Manila Branch, DBP Manila–Nakpil Branch, DBP Cagayan de Oro Branch, DBP Limketkai Branch, DBP Villanueva Branch, and DBP Marbel Branch.

According to the advisory, these closures are limited to the branches listed and are due to local holiday celebrations recognized in their cities or municipalities. DBP assured the public that banking operations will resume as scheduled after the holiday.

All other DBP branches, Branch Lite Units (BLUs), and the DBP Financial Center remain open on the same day. These offices are operating from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to serve clients’ banking needs. Customers are encouraged to visit the nearest open branch to avoid delays in transactions.

DBP reminded clients that many services can still be accessed through automated teller machines and other electronic channels. These options help reduce the need for branch visits, especially during holidays or peak days. However, the bank acknowledged that some transactions still require face-to-face processing, particularly for loans, government-related transactions, and certain account services.

To help clients plan ahead, DBP advised the public to check the updated list of open branches on its official website. This allows customers to confirm branch availability before traveling, saving time and transportation costs.

The state-owned bank also emphasized its commitment to consumer protection and transparency. DBP is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), which oversees banks to ensure fair and safe financial services for the public.

For feedback, concerns, or complaints, clients may contact the DBP Customer Experience Management Department from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., through email or official channels. Customers may also reach out to the BSP Financial Consumer Protection Department for banking-related concerns.

For urgent matters such as lost ATM cards or other emergency ATM issues, DBP has 24/7 hotlines available. These services are designed to help clients act quickly and protect their accounts from unauthorized use.

DBP encouraged customers to stay informed through official advisories and announcements. By checking updates ahead of time, clients can better manage their schedules and banking needs, especially during holidays and special non-working days.

As local celebrations continue across the country, timely information remains key to smooth and stress-free transactions. DBP reiterated its goal of keeping services accessible while respecting local traditions and holidays.
