In a sunlit meeting room in Manila, local dairy farmers voiced their hopes for better equipment and programs to improve their livelihoods. Today, Atty. Marcus Antonius T. Andaya, Administrator of the National Dairy Authority (NDA), met with leaders of the National Federation of Dairy Farmers and Stakeholders’ Association, Inc. (NFDFSAI) to discuss key needs of the country’s dairy sector.
The NFDFSAI delegation was led by President Danilo V. Fausto, with Corporate Secretary Atty. Bong Inciong and Treasurer Jojie San Diego. Farmers raised their call for post-harvest facilities, such as ice cream machines, that can help add value to their milk and increase income. Discussions also covered expanding the milk feeding program, strengthening NDA support for existing projects, and addressing other challenges facing the dairy industry.
Atty. Andaya assured farmers that NDA remains committed to listening and working closely with local producers. As part of this effort, the agency will hold monthly in-person consultations with dairy farmers, branded as “Let’s Have Milk,” to gather feedback and provide guidance.
The meeting highlights the NDA’s ongoing strategy to strengthen the local dairy industry through practical support, improved facilities, and continuous engagement with farmers. By addressing these concerns, the government aims to enhance productivity, increase farmers’ earnings, and promote sustainable growth in the sector.
