In Barangay San Fabian, Echague, Isabela, a new hope rises for local farmers and consumers alike. On October 10, residents gathered as the province launched its first-ever Dairy Box, a one-stop shop offering fresh carabao-based products. The opening brought excitement and pride to the community.
The Dairy Box aims to provide easy access to high-quality carabao milk and its products, helping local farmers reach more customers and encouraging healthier choices among residents. This initiative is part of efforts to support the dairy industry in the region, which has long been known for its carabao milk production.
Representatives from the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Carabao Center at Cagayan State University (DA-PCC sa CSU) joined the inauguration. Officials from the Echague local government were also present during the turnover ceremony, signaling strong cooperation between national agencies and local authorities.
The Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) has been active in promoting the carabao as a key source of dairy products in the country. By providing technical support and improving production facilities, PCC helps farmers increase milk yields and produce quality goods such as fresh milk, cheese, and yogurt.
The establishment of the Dairy Box in Barangay San Fabian not only supports local farmers but also gives consumers a reliable place to buy fresh, affordable carabao milk products. This is particularly important for communities that previously had limited access to such goods.
