Residents in Malita and Aroroy started their Monday with quieter-than-usual town centers as local holidays placed some government offices on pause, including select bank services. Many customers who walked up to their usual DBP branches were met with advisory posters at the doors, reminding them of the special schedule.
The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) announced that its Malita branch in Davao Occidental and Aroroy BLU in Masbate are temporarily closed today, November 17, in observance of their local celebrations. These closures apply only to the two branches, and operations will resume on the next business day.
DBP clarified that all its other branches and Branch Lite Units nationwide remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The bank advised clients to check the updated list of operating branches to plan their transactions, especially for payments, withdrawals, deposits, and other essential banking needs.
To help customers stay informed, DBP provided access to an online directory listing its open branches across the country. Bank officials reminded the public that schedules may change due to local events or unforeseen situations, and checking ahead of time can help avoid delays.
The bank also shared its customer support channels for those who may need assistance while the two branches are closed. The DBP Customer Experience Management Department is available on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Clients may send concerns through email or reach the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ consumer protection office for issues related to financial services.
For urgent ATM-related problems such as lost cards or blocked transactions, DBP’s 24/7 hotlines remain active. Customers can call the trunk line, direct line, or the domestic toll-free number for immediate help. These services ensure that clients continue to receive support even outside regular banking hours.
DBP emphasized that despite the temporary closures, the majority of its service network remains fully operational and ready to assist communities nationwide. The bank encouraged clients to use digital channels, mobile banking, and nearby open branches to complete their financial transactions without interruption.
As the day’s local festivities continue in Malita and Aroroy, DBP assured its customers that regular branch operations will be back to normal the following day, with the bank committed to reliable and accessible public service.
