Some clients of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) were met with temporary closures on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, as three branches suspended operations due to safety concerns and power outages.
Early in the morning, DBP released an advisory informing customers that the following branches would be closed for the day:
-
DBP Aroroy BLU – due to a power outage in the area
-
DBP Bogo Branch – closed as a precaution following recent earthquakes
-
DBP Malita Branch – also shut down due to earthquake safety concerns
These closures are part of DBP’s efforts to prioritize both employee and client safety, especially in light of the recent seismic activities reported in various regions, including parts of Cebu and Davao.
All Other DBP Branches Remain Open
Despite the temporary closures, all other DBP branches, branch-lite units (BLUs), and the Financial Center are operating as usual. Business hours remain from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and clients are encouraged to visit open branches for their banking needs.

Earthquake Preparedness and Safety First
The precautionary closure of the Bogo and Malita branches reflects growing awareness among government agencies and private institutions of the importance of earthquake readiness. With the Philippines located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, even minor tremors are taken seriously to ensure public safety.
Meanwhile, power interruptions in provinces like Masbate, where Aroroy is located, continue to affect service operations. DBP assured clients that affected branches will reopen once it is safe and stable to resume operations.
Banking Responsibly Amid Disruptions
Clients are encouraged to use DBP’s digital banking platforms, ATMs, and online channels for urgent transactions during temporary branch closures. The bank also reminded the public to remain patient and alert as they continue to monitor developments and prioritize safe, accessible service delivery.
