Engineers, manufacturers, and food processors across the Philippines are being called to shape the country’s first Philippine National Standard (PNS) for chipping machines. The initial stakeholder consultation will take place on March 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. via Google Meet.

The consultation aims to gather insights from experts on machine specifications and testing methods, ensuring that standards meet industry needs while promoting safety, efficiency, and quality in food processing. Participants include engineers, fabricators, assemblers, importers, and other competent authorities in the field.

Organizers emphasized that this is a critical step in establishing clear guidelines for chipping machines used nationwide. The PNS will cover technical specifications, operational performance, and methods for testing machines, supporting manufacturers and end-users alike.

Interested stakeholders can register online through the provided form. Early access to the initial draft standards is also available, allowing participants to review and provide feedback before the consultation. For questions, the Bureau of Agricultural and Food Engineering Services (BAFS) can be contacted via bafs.sddafmech@gmail.com.

By inviting industry experts to participate, the government aims to ensure that the PNS reflects real-world practices, promotes innovation, and strengthens the local manufacturing and food processing sectors.
