The hum of machines and fresh scent of milk filled the air in San Simon, Pampanga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the opening of the new Farm Fresh Philippines Plant. His visit marked a key moment in strengthening the country’s dairy industry and securing better nutrition for Filipino families.
At the inauguration, the President personally inspected the modern facility, highlighting the vital role of milk not only for children’s health but also for the nation’s economy. “Milk may not always get the attention it deserves, but it is crucial for both our health and economic growth,” he said.
Proper nutrition, especially during childhood, relies heavily on milk. Beyond being a key source of nutrients, milk supports various local industries. It is an important ingredient in bread, desserts, and many popular Filipino treats. “With the launch of the Farm Fresh Milk Inc. Plant, we aim to ensure more local milk production and supply for the country,” President Marcos added.
The government, through the National Dairy Authority (NDA), is actively working with private companies to develop the dairy sector. This partnership seeks to increase milk production and reduce reliance on imports, providing Filipino families with fresher, more affordable dairy products.
The NDA expressed full support for Farm Fresh Philippines, recognizing its role in strengthening the local dairy industry. This collaboration aligns with the government’s broader goal of achieving a more self-sufficient and resilient food system.
As the Philippines continues to build its dairy capabilities, the inauguration of this new plant signals hope for better health and economic opportunities, especially for farmers and consumers in Classes C, D, and E who rely on accessible and nutritious food.
