Under the bright morning sun in Guimba and Nampicuan, farmers lined up with hope and relief as they received fuel assistance cards on October 3, 2025. This new support aims to ease their everyday farming expenses and strengthen the agricultural sector in Central Luzon.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon launched this initiative under the Fuel Assistance to the Farmers Project for fiscal year 2024. The program provides fuel assistance cards to qualified farmers, helping them cover the cost of fuel needed for planting, harvesting, and other farming activities.

Fuel costs have long been a challenge for many small farmers, especially those in Classes C, D, and E, who work hard to put food on Filipino tables. By lowering production expenses, this program hopes to improve farmers’ incomes and encourage greater productivity in the region.

The DA’s support is part of a larger effort to boost agriculture in Central Luzon, a key rice-producing area of the country. Aside from fuel assistance, the department has been offering various programs to provide seeds, equipment, and training to farmers.

Officials from the Department of Agriculture emphasized that these efforts are vital for sustaining food security and rural livelihoods. “Supporting our farmers means securing food for all Filipinos,” a DA spokesperson said.

As the cards are distributed, farmers expressed gratitude for the government’s help in facing rising costs. Many said this assistance will allow them to focus more on their crops and less on financial worries.

This fuel aid program is one of several measures to modernize agriculture and support local farmers in Central Luzon. Through continued partnership between the government and farming communities, the region aims to build a stronger, more resilient agricultural sector for the future.

The assistance marks a step forward in the ongoing journey to empower Filipino farmers and ensure they can continue feeding the nation.
