A sense of pride and gratitude filled the NTA Central Office as colleagues and leaders gathered to honor Eleanor A. Rapanut, Chief Tobacco Production Regulation Officer (Chief TPRO) of the Regulation Department, for her 40 years of dedicated service.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, Administrator and CEO Belinda S. Sanchez, along with DAOP Nestor C. Casela, DASS Benedicto M. Savellano, department managers, and staff, held a “Salamat Mabuhay” ceremony to recognize Rapanut’s long and impactful career. The event highlighted her commitment to supporting tobacco farmers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing the agency’s mission to strengthen the industry.
Rapanut’s four decades at the National Tobacco Administration (NTA) have been marked by consistent professionalism, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the agency’s goals. Her colleagues described her as a pillar of guidance and a role model for younger staff entering the tobacco sector.
Administrator Sanchez praised Rapanut’s contributions, noting that her leadership and expertise helped shape policies that benefited both farmers and the broader tobacco industry. “Ma’am Ely has been a guiding force in our agency. Her work reflects the spirit of service and integrity that NTA values,” Sanchez said during the ceremony.
As Rapanut embarks on the next chapter of her life, colleagues expressed their gratitude and best wishes for her continued success. The celebration underscored the agency’s culture of respect, recognition, and appreciation for public servants who dedicate their careers to improving the lives of Filipino farmers.
