In a move that could shape the future of the country’s dairy industry, the National Dairy Authority (NDA) is calling on stakeholders for a consultative forum to discuss its expanded regulatory powers under Republic Act No. 12308.

The forum will be held on January 30, 2026, at a venue in Metro Manila (to be confirmed after RSVP) and will also allow online participation. It is designed as a platform for dairy producers, processors, and other stakeholders to engage directly with NDA officials on key changes affecting the sector.

The forum will cover updates on NDA’s broadened mandate, the transition of functions from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) to the NDA, and opportunities for stakeholders to provide feedback on regulatory practices. Organizers stressed that only one representative per company will be allowed, and slots are limited. Interested participants are encouraged to RSVP by January 19, 2026, through the online registration link or QR code provided.

The NDA said the consultative forum aims to ensure that policies and regulations reflect the realities of the dairy industry while promoting a safe, competitive, and responsive sector. Experts say stakeholder engagement is crucial for creating a regulatory framework that balances public safety, industry growth, and farmers’ welfare.

With the dairy sector playing an important role in nutrition and rural livelihoods, the forum presents an opportunity for producers and regulators to align on best practices, address challenges, and explore strategies to strengthen the local dairy industry.

By opening dialogue with industry stakeholders, the NDA hopes to build a transparent, inclusive, and effective regulatory system that supports both producers and consumers. This forum is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to modernize dairy governance and ensure safe, quality products for Filipino families.
