Many young farmers and livestock keepers still rely on family-taught methods when caring for their carabaos. For others, the cost of training often becomes a barrier to learning new, science-based practices. This is why a new free training course is drawing attention from agricultural workers eager to improve their skills.

The Department of Agriculture–Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) is inviting the public to join its FREE Cara-Aralan Short Training Course Webinar Series, a PRC-accredited program that offers 5.50 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for licensed agriculturists. The training aims to strengthen knowledge in carabao production, herd management, and enterprise development—skills essential to the growth of the dairy and livestock sector.

Enrollment is open on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 100 participants. The deadline of registration is on November 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Participants must complete all course modules to earn CPD points.

The training features a full set of learning modules designed for both beginners and experienced livestock raisers. Topics include an introduction to the Philippine Carabao Center, understanding the estrous cycle and heat detection, herd and record management, proper housing, forage production and utilization, health management, and carabao-based enterprise development with basic financial management.

DA-PCC encourages active participation as each module provides practical guidance that can help improve productivity, animal health, and income opportunities for carabao raisers. The training also aims to build stronger local dairy enterprises, especially in rural communities where the carabao remains a key agricultural partner.

To ensure smooth participation, registrants are reminded to accomplish both the pre-webinar and post-webinar evaluation surveys, which are required for the issuance of e-certificates. Participants should also download the Zoom application ahead of schedule and check their email for confirmation after completing registration.

The webinar includes a live question-and-answer segment, giving attendees a chance to consult experts on livestock care, feeding strategies, and farm management challenges. DA-PCC hopes the course will help more Filipinos adopt science-based practices that support a stronger carabao industry and contribute to national food security.

Interested individuals may register through the official link provided in the announcement. Organizers encourage early sign-up due to limited slots.

By making technical training free and accessible, DA-PCC continues its mission to empower farmers, uplift livelihoods, and strengthen the role of the carabao in Philippine agriculture.
