Excited students looking to gain hands-on experience in fisheries and related fields have just days left to apply for the Department of Agriculture – National Fisheries Research and Development Institute’s (DA-NFRDI) Students’ Training Support (STrainS) Program.
The program, which runs from January to June 2026, offers high school and college students a chance to undergo face-to-face, on-the-job training at DA-NFRDI. Participants will gain practical skills in areas such as fisheries, library and information science, communication, information technology, office administration, and other related fields.
“This is a unique opportunity for students to learn, grow, and prepare for real-world careers while contributing to the country’s fisheries and agricultural sectors,” a DA-NFRDI spokesperson said.
The STrainS program is open to junior and senior high school students as well as undergraduate and graduate college students across the Philippines. Trainees will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining firsthand knowledge of scientific research, office operations, and technical support services that are crucial to the nation’s fisheries development.
