Commuters across the country faced long waits and limited rides as the two-day nationwide transport strike began. To ease travel challenges for its employees, the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI) announced a temporary Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement on Thursday and Friday, March 26–27, 2026.
Despite the shift, all scheduled meetings, activities, and project deadlines in DA offices will continue as planned. The bureau emphasized that essential services, especially Plant Quarantine Service Stations at all ports of entry, will remain fully operational to avoid interruptions in agricultural trade and import/export procedures.
The WFH arrangement aims to help staff navigate commuting difficulties while maintaining productivity and public service. Regular onsite work is set to resume on Monday, March 30, 2026.
DA-BPI reminds the public that critical plant health and quarantine services will continue uninterrupted, ensuring that farmers, traders, and other stakeholders still receive timely support for agriculture and food security.
