In a hall filled with local officials and development partners in Metro Manila, discussions centered on one clear goal—how to strengthen services for farmers and fisherfolk across the country. Taking the stage, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Director Remelyn R. Recoter outlined key strategies aimed at building stronger and more responsive local governments.
Director Recoter spoke during the Partners Forum for Local Governance Capacity Development, where national agencies and stakeholders gathered to align programs that support local government units (LGUs). Her presentation highlighted ATI’s ongoing initiatives to empower LGUs in delivering improved agricultural and fishery services.
The Agricultural Training Institute, an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture (DA), serves as the training and extension arm of the department. It focuses on equipping farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural extension workers with updated knowledge and practical skills. During the forum, Recoter emphasized capacity development as a key strategy. Strong coordination ensures that national policies translate into concrete support on the ground.
