Under the warm sun of San Joaquin, Iloilo, a group of dedicated Artificial Insemination (AI) technicians gathered at The Assemblage Point Resort and Convention Hub, ready to reflect on their achievements and plan for the year ahead. The two-day forum, held on November 24–25, aimed to strengthen services for livestock farmers across Panay Island.
Organized by the Department of Agriculture–Philippine Carabao Center (DA–PCC) in partnership with West Visayas State University, the AI Technician Forum focused on reviewing 2025 accomplishments and preparing strategic plans for 2026. Participants discussed ways to expand their outreach and improve the quality of AI services, which play a key role in supporting local livestock production.
A major highlight of the event was the training on branding and communication. These sessions aimed to help AI technicians present themselves professionally, align their advisory work with the DA-PCC’s organizational identity, and communicate more effectively with farmers. By learning to deliver clear, meaningful, and farmer-focused presentations, technicians can better explain the benefits, impact, and contributions of DA-PCC programs to local communities.
“This forum gives our technicians the skills and confidence to engage more effectively with farmers and stakeholders,” said a DA-PCC representative. “It’s about making sure that every service we provide adds real value to the community and helps farmers succeed.”
With the forum, the DA-PCC hopes to create a stronger network of AI technicians who are not only technically skilled but also capable of sharing knowledge in a way that is understandable and relatable to farmers. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving agricultural productivity and supporting rural livelihoods through technology and education.
As the technicians leave the forum, their focus is clear: to bring enhanced service, clearer communication, and meaningful impact to livestock farmers across Panay in the year ahead.
