QUEZON CITY – The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) lit up its headquarters in Quezon City as employees gathered to celebrate “Paskuhan sa Bayaniyugan,” an annual Christmas tradition honoring unity, gratitude, and the holiday spirit.

The event began with a thanksgiving mass, allowing staff to reflect on the agency’s blessings despite challenges faced throughout the year. This was followed by a Christmas Lighting Ceremony that brightened the entire office, symbolizing hope, renewal, and shared joy for both the agency and the coconut industry it serves.

In his message, PCA Administrator and CEO Dr. Dexter R. Buted acknowledged the difficulties the country faced in 2025, from natural disasters to economic challenges impacting Filipino families. Despite these trials, he praised the agency for remaining resilient and united.

“We did not give up. We did not surrender. We became stronger together,” Dr. Buted said, highlighting the team’s determination and teamwork.

He also recognized the agency’s remarkable accomplishments this year. The PCA successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015 Certification and was honored by the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) as a Most Improved Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC).

“YOU built this. YOU earned this. YOU are this success,” he said, emphasizing the critical contributions of every staff member to the agency’s achievements.

“Paskuhan sa Bayaniyugan” serves not only as a festive celebration but also as a meaningful reminder that bayanihan—community spirit—and unity continue to guide the PCA. The agency’s commitment to teamwork and excellence shines as brightly as its holiday lights, inspiring hope and progress in the Philippine coconut industry.
