Amid the busy streets of Hong Kong, hundreds of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) lined up at the OFW Global Centre, eager to access vital government services and financial assistance. For many, it was a chance to get support from home without leaving their work schedules.
From November 8 to 10, 2025, LANDBANK joined the Alagang OWWA: Membership and Welfare Serbisyo Caravan at the Department of Migrant Workers–Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (DMW–OWWA) OFW Global Centre in Hong Kong. The three-day event served around 3,000 OFWs and aimed to bring essential government programs closer to Filipinos abroad.
The caravan was led by OWWA in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong. LANDBANK representatives, including Executive Vice President Leila C. Martin, Assistant Vice President Jose Emmanuel C. Valdez, Overseas Representative Officer Oliver F. Bautista, and Assistant Overseas Representative Francesca Celine A. Burgos, were present to promote the Bank’s GoBayani Account.
The GoBayani Account is a specialized savings product designed to make fund transfers, savings, and other transactions easier and more secure for OFWs through LANDBANK’s digital platforms. The account aims to help Filipinos abroad manage their finances efficiently while staying connected to banking services in the Philippines.
LANDBANK emphasized that initiatives like this support financial inclusion for OFWs and demonstrate the Bank’s commitment to providing accessible and reliable banking services to Filipinos worldwide. The event also highlighted the importance of partnership between government agencies and financial institutions in ensuring that OFWs can access both welfare and financial support conveniently.
For many attendees, the caravan was more than just a financial opportunity—it was a reminder that government services and banking support are within reach, even thousands of miles from home. Such programs aim to ease the challenges faced by OFWs and strengthen their financial security, benefiting both workers and their families back in the Philippines.
