Early mornings on farms and plantations are often spent battling pests that threaten crops. Behind every safe harvest is a trained individual who knows how to handle chemicals properly. Now, these professionals are being called to take the next step.
The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) has officially opened applications for the November 4, 2025 examinations for individuals in pest control and chemical safety. This includes those who have completed the Certified Pesticide Applicator (CPA) – Fumigator and Exterminator training, as well as those accredited as Responsible Care Officers (ARCO).
The application is now live and can be completed online via this link: https://forms.office.com/r/dpA8u3vqbU. Interested applicants may also scan the provided QR code on the official announcement for quick access.
The deadline for submission is Wednesday, October 22, 2025, but FPA reminds everyone that slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This means applications may close earlier once the target number of examinees is reached.
Where and when the exam will take place
All examinations will be conducted at the FPA Central Office located along Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. Applicants are advised to prepare early and ensure all requirements are completed to secure their slot.
Why these exams matter
The FPA exams are crucial in ensuring that professionals handling pesticides and other agricultural chemicals are properly trained, licensed, and knowledgeable in safe usage. This is especially important for protecting not just crops, but also the health of farmers, workers, and consumers.
Improper chemical use can cause long-term environmental damage, water contamination, and health risks. That’s why certified applicators and responsible care officers play a big role in maintaining food safety and environmental protection in the country.
A step forward for safer farming
As the agricultural industry continues to modernize, ensuring that those in charge of pest control are fully certified becomes even more important. The FPA encourages all eligible individuals to take this opportunity to professionalize their skills and contribute to safer and more sustainable farming.
