The excitement was palpable as Agrilink 2025 opened yesterday, October 2, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Under the theme “Logistics: The Key to an Efficient Market and Value Chain,” the event brought together government, private sector, and international partners to focus on improving the country’s agricultural market systems.
Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Roger V. Navarro led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, marking the official start of this important gathering.
One of the highlights was the active participation of the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Plant Industry (DA-BPI). The bureau provided free seeds and seedlings, which many visitors eagerly received. But the support went beyond giveaways. Attendees had the chance to talk directly with DA-BPI’s Agriculturists, Food Safety Experts, and Plant Quarantine Officers. They asked questions, sought advice, and got assistance for their farming needs.
DA-BPI also held free seminars during the event. The Agricultural Engineering Division introduced hydroponics—an innovative way to grow plants without soil. Meanwhile, the Plant Quarantine Service (PQS) explained how the country’s Plant Quarantine System works to protect local agriculture from pests and diseases.
Alongside DA-BPI’s efforts, guests from Pagsibol 2025 joined Agrilink to explore new agricultural products and technologies from various sectors. This exchange aims to keep Filipino farmers updated with modern tools and methods that can help increase their productivity.
DA-BPI’s involvement in Agrilink 2025 shows its commitment to ensuring Philippine agricultural products meet global standards. The bureau also promotes sustainable and eco-friendly farming technologies. Most importantly, DA-BPI works to help farmers increase their harvests, reduce losses, and gain better access to markets.
Agrilink 2025 serves as a vital platform for farmers, stakeholders, and experts to collaborate and find solutions that improve the entire agricultural value chain. Through events like this, the country moves closer to a stronger, more efficient farming sector that benefits all Filipinos.
