Dark clouds gather over coastal towns as families prepare for heavy rains and possible floods. In homes near the shorelines of Visayas and Caraga, residents check sandbags, stock food, and secure their boats in anticipation of Bagyong Tino, which is approaching the region.
The Climate Change Commission (CCC) has reminded the public to stay alert as the storm may bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, and flooding. According to the latest advisory from DOST-PAGASA (as of 5:00 PM, November 4, 2025), Bagyong Tino is currently east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds reaching 130 km/h and moving westward at 20 km/h.
Authorities warn of a high risk of storm surge that could reach up to three meters in low-lying coastal areas within the next 48 hours. Areas under threat include Masbate, Romblon, Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin. Fisherfolk and small vessel operators are strongly advised to avoid going out to sea.
Bagyong Tino is expected to make landfall or pass near Homonhon Island or Dinagat Islands tonight or early tomorrow (November 5, 2025). It may reach the mainland of Leyte or Southern Leyte tomorrow morning before moving across Visayas and northern Palawan from Tuesday to Wednesday morning. The storm is projected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday morning, November 6, 2025.
Residents in vulnerable areas are urged to remain vigilant, secure their homes, and be prepared for flooding and landslides caused by moderate to heavy rainfall. Authorities emphasize monitoring official updates from reliable sources:
