In the bustling halls of Bacolod City, young farmers and food enthusiasts gather around colorful booths, eager to learn new ways to improve their crops and livelihoods. Among them, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is making a strong impression by offering free learning resources to help aspiring and experienced farmers alike.
ATI, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, is participating in Terra Madre Asia and Pacific 2025, running from November 19 to 23. The institute is distributing free information, education, and communication (IEC) materials to visitors, while also introducing e-learning courses and online resources that are available for free registration.
“Our goal is to make agricultural knowledge accessible to everyone,” said an ATI representative. “By providing practical guides, training materials, and online courses, we help farmers learn modern techniques, improve yields, and adopt sustainable farming practices.”
Terra Madre Asia and Pacific is an international gathering of food producers, chefs, and advocates for sustainable agriculture. For ATI, it serves as an ideal platform to showcase resources and tools that can directly benefit Filipino farmers, from rice and vegetable growers to livestock raisers.
Participants at the event can access a wide range of materials, including guides on crop management, post-harvest processing, and farm entrepreneurship, all designed to help farmers increase income and productivity. The e-learning courses allow learners to study at their own pace, giving more opportunities for those in remote areas who cannot attend in-person trainings.
Beyond materials, ATI emphasizes the importance of knowledge sharing and networking. By connecting farmers with experts, fellow producers, and government programs, the institute fosters a community where best practices and innovations are shared, strengthening the agricultural sector across the Philippines.
With this initiative, ATI continues to support the government’s vision of modern, sustainable, and inclusive agriculture, ensuring that farmers and agripreneurs have the tools and knowledge to thrive in a competitive and ever-changing environment.
Farmers and visitors are encouraged to visit ATI’s booth at Terra Madre Asia and Pacific 2025 to collect free resources and learn more about the programs available to improve their farms and livelihoods.
