In a modest room at Quezon City Hall on September 15, 2025, local officials and government representatives came together to discuss the future of a land occupied by the Alegria Republic Avenue Neighborhood Association, Inc. (ARNAI) in Fairview. The meeting, held at the office of Councilor Karl Edgar C. Castelo, focused on finding clear answers about the status of the property on Republic Avenue and exploring possible solutions.

Representatives from key agencies attended the session, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) National Capital Region, led by OIC Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Engr. Henry P. Pacis, the Land Management Bureau, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The land in question is officially recorded as Lot No. 812: NEW-B-1 under Block No. PSD-52764, with Transfer Certificate of Title No. 48178. The group aimed to clarify ownership and legal concerns surrounding the site and discuss how to proceed in a way that respects both the residents’ rights and government regulations.

Councilor Castelo emphasized the importance of open and respectful communication among the Quezon City government, concerned agencies, and the ARNAI community. He highlighted the need to protect the residents’ homes while also ensuring compliance with environmental rules and land laws.

This meeting is part of Quezon City’s ongoing effort to address community land issues fairly and humanely. The city government is committed to inclusive dialogue that respects both people’s needs and legal processes.

The ARNAI land issue reflects broader challenges in urban areas where residents seek security while authorities work to uphold the law and protect public resources. Continued cooperation and transparent discussions are key to finding lasting solutions.

As Quezon City moves forward, officials and residents alike are reminded of the value of working together for sustainable and peaceful communities.
