Small businesses and entrepreneurs across the Philippines looking to register new products now have an important update to follow. The National Dairy Authority’s (NDA) Central Application Facility (CAF) is now accepting applications, but new requirements aim to ensure compliance and proper product evaluation.
The NDA warns applicants that due to a rise in requests for products outside its usual coverage, all submissions must include an FDA Certificate of Product Registration (FDA-CPR). In addition, the submission must contain a complete list of ingredients arranged in descending order of proportion. This rule applies to most product types, except for new or initial NDA License to Operate (NDA-LTO) applications, which have slightly different requirements but still require the ingredient list.
The agency emphasizes that failure to provide the FDA-CPR or the proper ingredient details may result in disqualification of the application. This step is intended to help the NDA assess whether the product falls under its jurisdiction and to maintain regulatory compliance.
Industry observers note that this move reflects the NDA’s effort to streamline product registration and safeguard public health. By requiring proper documentation, the agency can prevent unregistered or unauthorized products from entering the market, ensuring that consumers receive safe and properly evaluated dairy and related products.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully review submission guidelines and provide accurate documentation to avoid delays. Coordination with the FDA and adherence to ingredient disclosure rules are essential for a smooth application process.
The NDA continues to support entrepreneurs and manufacturers by providing clear instructions and regulatory guidance, reinforcing its role in promoting a safe and sustainable dairy sector in the Philippines.
