In Manila, farmers, distributors, and agribusiness stakeholders are being advised to plan ahead as the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) temporarily adjusts its operations this week.

The FPA announced that its Pesticide Regulations Division (PRD) will operate with skeletal staffing from March 11 to 13, 2026. All personnel will attend a Process Improvement Workshop organized in coordination with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

During this period, the PRD will only accept compliance documents and other incoming correspondence. New applications requiring manual billing forms will not be accepted, and in-person payments at the cashier will be suspended. Manual billing forms will also not be issued.

Instead, stakeholders are required to process payments through the Landbank Link.Biz Portal. Applications for the Certificate of Authority to Import Pesticides (CAIP) will continue to be processed via designated online platforms.

The FPA reminded applicants with renewal deadlines falling within March 11–13 to submit complete requirements via email to avoid surcharges. Regular PRD operations, including acceptance of new applications and in-person transactions, will resume on March 16, 2026.

Officials urged farmers, pesticide distributors, and other stakeholders to plan submissions and payments accordingly to avoid delays. For guidance or inquiries, the FPA may be reached via email at official@fpa.da.gov.ph or by phone at (02) 8920-8573 / 8371-5388.

This temporary adjustment reflects the agency’s commitment to streamline processes and improve efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance across the sector.
