Early Friday morning, some bank clients in parts of Mindanao arrived at their usual Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) branches only to find doors temporarily closed. For many workers, pensioners, and small business owners, banking is part of the daily routine, making timely advisories important to avoid inconvenience.

DBP announced that several of its branches and Branch Lite Units (BLUs) are temporarily closed on Friday, December 19, 2025, in observance of local holidays in their respective areas. The advisory was released at 8:57 a.m. to guide clients planning over-the-counter transactions.

The branches closed for the day include DBP Iligan, Tubod, Cotabato, Kidapawan, Marbel, Polomolok, and Tacurong. Also temporarily closed are the DBP M’lang BLU and DBP Banga BLU. These closures are limited to today and are part of the bank’s compliance with local government holiday declarations.

DBP clarified that all other branches, BLUs, and its Financial Center nationwide remain open and fully operational. These offices are serving clients from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the same day. Customers are encouraged to visit nearby open branches or use alternative banking channels if their local branch is affected by the closure.

The state-owned bank also reminded clients that basic banking services remain accessible through automated teller machines (ATMs), online banking platforms, and other digital services. These options are especially helpful for clients who need to withdraw cash, check balances, or perform simple transactions without going to a branch.

For those who need updated information, DBP advised the public to regularly check its official website for the latest list of open branches and service advisories. Staying informed helps clients save time and avoid unnecessary travel, especially during holidays or unexpected closures.

DBP emphasized that it operates under the regulation of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), ensuring that consumer protection and service standards are upheld. Clients with feedback, concerns, or complaints may contact the DBP Customer Experience Management Department from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., through email.

For issues involving lost ATM cards or other urgent ATM-related concerns, DBP reminded customers that its ATM hotlines are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These hotlines are designed to provide immediate assistance, especially in cases where account security may be at risk.

Banking officials continue to advise clients to plan transactions ahead of time, particularly during holidays that may affect branch operations. Simple steps such as checking advisories in advance or using digital banking services can help avoid delays and stress.

As the year-end season approaches, banks expect higher transaction volumes due to salary releases, holiday spending, and business payments. DBP reassured the public that it remains committed to providing reliable service while respecting local observances and ensuring the safety and convenience of its clients.
