The University of the Philippines Los Baños campus of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC sa UPLB) celebrated a major quality milestone as it successfully passed the ISO 9001:2015 and 1:2024 Surveillance 2 Audit on March 2, 2026.
The recent audit confirmed that DA-PCC sa UPLB continues to meet international standards in its operations. Inspectors highlighted the center’s ongoing commitment to improving and maintaining its Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring that procedures remain effective between recertification audits. The evaluation also verified that previously identified issues were adequately addressed in line with ISO requirements.
Maintaining ISO certification is vital for DA-PCC sa UPLB as it strengthens public trust in its programs and demonstrates the agency’s dedication to consistent service quality. The center’s QMS covers key areas such as research, livestock development, training programs, and administrative processes, all aimed at supporting carabao-based livelihoods across the Philippines.
Officials said the successful audit reflects not only compliance with global standards but also the continuous efforts of staff to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery. By upholding these standards, DA-PCC sa UPLB ensures that its programs and services remain effective, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of farmers and stakeholders nationwide.
