In offices and regional centers across the country, staff at the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) are adjusting their routines to support both government efficiency and energy conservation. Starting this month, employees will work from home every Friday, reducing office energy use while continuing to serve the public.

The move follows the national energy conservation goals and aligns with Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President. The circular directs all government agencies to adopt measures that save energy without affecting operational efficiency.

Under this Flexible Work Arrangement, DA-PCC National Headquarters and all its Regional Centers will implement a Work-From-Home schedule every Friday. During these days, staff will carry out administrative, planning, and coordination tasks remotely, ensuring continuity of services while reducing electricity consumption in office facilities.

DA-PCC officials emphasize that this initiative is designed to maintain high-quality service for stakeholders, including farmers, livestock owners, and partners in the agriculture sector. Remote work will allow the agency to continue handling inquiries, processing documents, and supporting carabao-related programs across the country.

Energy conservation in government offices has become a priority as electricity demand continues to rise. By implementing flexible schedules and remote work days, agencies can lower operational costs, reduce carbon footprints, and contribute to broader sustainability efforts.

The DA-PCC encourages employees and partner organizations to support this program while ensuring that essential public services remain uninterrupted. Officials also note that adopting flexible work arrangements can improve employee productivity, work-life balance, and overall efficiency.

This initiative reflects the Philippine government’s commitment to responsible energy use while ensuring that essential services for farmers and rural communities continue without disruption.
